Industrial Consultants and Laboratories (ICL) was established in 1997 as with the aim of providing Industrial Consultancy and Testing facilities to SSI units with specific emphasis on Agro-Produce Processing and related technologies.

In 2001, another launch came from the same promoters in the form of 'Jagriti e-Sewa' (www.jagriti.com). Jagriti e-Sewa was the result of extensive work in rural areas and works on the 'IT-enabled Rural Services' model and was the first such self sustaining business model in the country. Later, Jagriti became a matter of intense study, won national awards, and is enlisted as an innovative approach that creates rural employment, causes rural development and brings the consumer closer to the producer.

It was sometime in 2002 that Jagriti decided to contribute to improving the rural income and diversify into production of herbal crops in Punjab and also create complete products that reach the consumers with best quality and user friendly format. Subsequently, cultivation of several herbal crops including Stevia Rebaudiana, SarpGandha (Serpentina Rauwolfia). Lemon Grass, Coleus Forskholi and Aloe Vera was promoted with the technical support of many research institutions including Punjab Agricultural University, CEDMAP and the IWDP project of the World Bank.

At present, Jagriti e-Sewa and ICL work back to back in production of STEVA and other product lines. On the Farm, Jagriti guides the farmers on adopting the best global standards in producing the raw material for its products. The intermediate processing, formulation, packing and distribution is handled by ICL.

All the products are manufactured in our new plant located at Jalandhar, Punjab and as per the best practices. The production and quality assurance system has already been aligned with ISO 2000:9001 guidelines and the certification is in process.

Together, Jagriti and ICL represent a very potent combination of fully integrated production, procurement and consumer product manufacturing system, that not only ensures complete quality and safety of its products, but also envisages rural development and reaching out to the end user with best quality and affordable prices.

ICL aims at innovating and introducing a large range of high-consumption, specialized products and make place for itself in the total 'safe healthy products' market.
